Labour law could see Liberals leave January agreement if no deal reached
Liberal party leader Nyamko Sabuni is hopeful that employers and unions can come to an agreement on changes to liberalise Sweden's employment protection act (LAS) but if not, she says, the government must accept proposed changes to the workers rights legislation contained in the January agreement, and says she is willing to withdraw her party's support for the government if they don't.
In the fifth of Swedish Radio's party leader interviews that in pre-corona times would normally take place during Almedalen week in Gotland, the Liberal leader says:
If the government doesn't do this, and instead only listens to the unions and protects those already in work, then I am prepared to leave the January Agreement...we must open up the work market to more people"
