Centre Party: Not interested in a cap on refugees

The Centre Party's interim leader Anders W Jonsson says his party isn't interested in a fixed cap on the number of refugees Sweden receives in the ongoing migration talks between Sweden's parliamentary parties.

In Friday's party leader interview with Swedish Radio, Jonsson says that doing so would violate asylum law.

Anders W Jonsson was also asked for his views on working with the Centre Party's former Alliance partners in the Moderate Party, in light of that party's leader Ulf Kristersson saying that he would not rule out future budget cooperation with the Sweden Democrats.

The Centre Party will not negotiate a budget with the Sweden Democrats. The Sweden Democrats are an avowedly populist party, and if you are prepared to put Sweden's finances in the hands of a populist party, that worries me,"
