Lay-offs slowing but unemployment still high

1:01 min

The latest figures show more people in Sweden are losing their jobs and more are registering unemployed.

Most of the job losses happened in March and April as employers reacted to the corona crisis. The unemployment level has only increased slightly since then, and is on 9.2% currently, meaning around half a million people are registered unemployed.

Of the recently unemployed in this week's figures around a third are in the youngest group, those aged between 18 and 24.
