Sweden's Council for Higher Education has told the government that the biannual Scholastic Aptitude Test should not be carried out this autumn, as it would increase the risk of spreading the coronavirus.

The test results are one of several measures Sweden's prospective students can submit in an attempt to be approved for university.

But after close consultation with 21 university-colleges responsible for carrying out the tests, the conclusion was that a number of obstacles mean it is not possible, and there could be two rounds of the test next spring instead.
