Gonorrhea cases hit highest number in over three decades

During the 1990s and early 2000s, the overall number of cases of gonorrhea in Sweden was quite low. But the last ten years have seen a dramatic uptick.

One explanation is increased and more user-friendly testing, says Inga Velicko, an epidemiologist at the Public Health Agency.

However, she also says that changing sexual habits are playing a part, and that people have become worse at using protection.
