Road to equal pay for men's and women's national football teams not straightforward

Sweden forward Emil Forsberg last week said that the men's national team are in favour of equal pay for both his side and the women, after the country's Equality Ombudsman ruled that the Swedish Football Association was not in breach of anti-discrimination laws in choosing to pay a different amount of compensation to the two groups.

But even if the men back equal compensation for their counterparts, Swedish Radio sports journalist Richard Henriksson explained that a complicated system of bonuses means securing equal pay is far from straightforward, and it could mean some tough questions are raised.
