Ten billion for the climate in the budget for next year

Almost ten billion kronor in the upcoming autumn budget will go to measures that help cut climate emissions in industry and transport, the government says.

At a press conference on Monday, the Green Party spokespeople Per Bolund and Isabella Lövin presented 9.7 billion kronor investments that make up about ten per cent of the government's budget for next year.

"This is not just the biggest budget, it is also the greenest," said Bolund, who particularly stressed the importance of what they call "green credit guarantees", a system where the state steps in to quarantee loans that companies need to make climate friendly investments and cut emissions. This system will now be extended.

The Autumn budget will be presented in its entirety next week.
