Karolinska hospital redundancies called off

Last year's notice of the redundancies of 600 doctors and assistant nurses at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge and Solna has been removed, as the goal has been reached by people retiring or not being replaced after they leave.

The original notice from last year was reduced to about half earlier this year, and when things were at their most extreme in terms of the new coronavirus, hospital management said the redundancies would be put on hold, until the pandemic was over. But after an analysis of the situation, the daily Svenska Dagbladet now reports that it has been concluded that no additional redundancies are necessary.

30 people from the administrative staff will however have to leave the hospital during September, according to the newspaper.
