First come, first serve system proposed for university entrance exam

The autumn's university entrance exam may now go ahead after all, but in a bid to prevent transmission of Covid-19 the number of aspiring students allowed to take part looks set to be restricted.

According to a proposal from Sweden's newly appointed national coordinator for the Swedish SATs, Peter Honeth, there will be stricter criteria for applying for a seat on exam day, October 25th. The total number of places will also be radically cut and made available on a first come, first serve basis, Swedish Radio has learned.

A final decision about the national exam is likely due this week.
