Moderate Party proposal: deport gang members

1:30 min

The opposition Moderate Party wants to make it easier to deport foreign-national individuals involved in gang violence, even if they have not been convicted of any crime.

The proposal is part of a list of ten suggested measures presented on Thursday that would, according to the Moderates' legal policy spokesperson Johan Forssell, effectively help tackle gang crime.

The list also includes suggestions to confiscate gang members' property, to criminalise gang membership, to establish special visitation zones, to allow anonymous witnesses, and to remove double jeopardy protections for crimes related to gang conflicts.
