Sweden's Foreign Minister held a bilateral meeting with its Turkish counterpart for the first time in nine years, after Ann Linde met with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to discuss the presence of Turkish troops in Syria, the conflict between Turkey's border nation Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the dispute between Turkey and Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Linde admitted that Stockholm and Ankara disagree in many areas, but hoped that OSCE member Sweden can play an important role as a mediator in the conflict between Armenia and Turkish-backed Azerbaijan.
