Government seeks new powers to limit movement

The government wants to introduce new temporary legislation giving them powers to limit people's rights to visit beaches, use public transport and shopping centres in order to stop the spread of corona.

The proposed law may infringe on freedoms protected by the constitution, including freedom of movement, so Health Minister Lena Hallengren says they must be careful about how it is brought in, and this means the proposed law won't be introduced until summer 2021.
