Award-winning Sami Blood director, Amanda Kernell's second feature length film, Charter, has been chosen as Sweden's submission for an Academy Award in the Best International Feature Film category.

Steffen Andersen-Møller, Head of the International Department at the Swedish Film Institute and chairman of the Oscar Committee said Charter, which had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival back in January, was 'a slow-burning and well-played family drama that is one of this year's most challenging films and which showcased Amanda Kernell as one of the most promising European filmmakers'.
