SAS faces million kronor fines for delays over flight refunds

The Swedish Consumer Agency has decided to take legal action against Scandinavian Airlines SAS for its handling of refunds to passengers for cancelled flights due to the corona pandemic.

According to consumer rules, travellers should not have to wait more than seven days for a refund for cancelled flights. But during the pandemic, many passengers have had to wait much longer than that. And SAS can pay dearly for this, through the Consumer Ombudsman's decision.

We have decided to issue two injunctions. And in this case, the injunctions are then combined with a fine of one million kronor,"
