A new report claims the music industry in Sweden has seen revenues fall by 50 per cent this year, as the corona crisis hits live performances and even future royalties.

The report from Musiksverige, an association that represents a collection of organisations within commercial music in Sweden, says that around half of the industry's income - some seven billion kronor - has been lost this year due to the corona crisis.

The report also predicts a similar effect next year, with not only live performances affected but also revenue from royalties and copyright payments being severely hit by the closure of nightclubs and shops and restaurants going out of business.
