Sharp drop in restaurant turnover after local restrictions
Restaurants are seeing 60 percent lower turnover compared to the same period last year, and that is down even further compared to before the introduction of stricter local recommendations in some areas.
Business organisation Visita has been monitoring turnover at 600 restaurants around the country since February. Fast food restaurants are not included in the data, however.
"It's been a brutal reaction to the restrictions, it is very worrying," says Thomas Jakobsson, chief economist at Visita.
