LKAB to invest billions to reduce carbon dioxide emissions
- LKAB, a state-owned mineral and mining group, wants to invest 400 billion kronor to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions through changing to a new hydrogen-based process.
- The initiative could create up to 3,000 new jobs annually for the coming 20 years in Kiruna and Gällivare, the company says.
- If the plan gets approved by the Swedish parliament it could become the biggest industrial venture ever in the country.
