Fraud against elderly on the rise
- The elderly are increasingly becoming the target of fraud, a phenomenon police believe could be linked to the pandemic.
- Crimes involving "social manipulation" increased by 30 percent between January and October, compared to the same period last year.
- "Hang up if you get a suspicious phone call. Don’t open web links you don’t recognise," warns Ann-Christine Baar, chair of an elderly association.
