Spring exams cancelled due to pandemic

  • Two national exams will be cancelled next spring because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Agency for Education has decided.
  • Education minister Anna Ekström says because of the pandemic it is not possible to carry out the national tests in a fair and equal way, and pupils and teachers need to concentrate on lessons.
  • The tests that have been cancelled are the exams that check that high-school education is up to the same standard across the country, instead the grades will be based on teachers' assessments.
