Coronavirus response.
Emergency pandemic law would start on 10th January
- The political parties and referral bodies are proposing that the pandemic law should be in force sooner and only between January and September 2021.
- The law would allow the government to regulate businesses opening hours, limit the number of visitors to stores and malls, and close down businesses with a high spread of infection.
- This could also mean that businesses and private individuals who don’t follow the law get penalised with fines, according to Joakim Nergelius, professor in Law at Örebro University.
