Cancer patients are getting treatment faster during the pandemic
- During the coronavirus pandemic, the average waiting period to get surgery for cancer patients has gone down.
- With hospitals under increasing pressure, those with cancer have been prioritized over patients with conditions where treatments can be postponed.
- However, roughly 10 to 12 percent fewer people are checking themselves for the most common types of cancer.
