Can we mitigate climate change? "Yes, but we need the will"

  • It's "now or never" that the world needs to act to limit global warming to 1.5° C above pre-industrial levels, according to the UN, whose International Panel on Climate Change released earlier this week a report on mitigation.

  • Speaking about the report, Secretary-General of the UN, António Guterres painted a vivid and troubling picture of what the future will bring if current energy policies don't change.

  • To diminish greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change, Ulrika Björkstén, Swedish Radio's science correspondent went over the report's highlights and explained that "technologically, it's possible", but "we need the will and the investments."
