New report
Climate change - the biggest threat to global food security
- A new report from the Stockholm Environment Institute warns that the global food supply is threatened by climate change, Swedish Radio News reports.
- Both rich and poor countries are dependent on trade and there may be shortages of important crops such as corn, wheat, soy and coffee beans, the report says.
- A large part of the coffee consumed in Sweden is grown in Brazil and there the production of the popular variety arabica will decrease by over 60 percent in the coming decades, according to the report.
