Concern grows among Sweden's Kurdish community after extradition

After an extradition to Turkey was carried out at the end of last year, concern has grown in the Kurdish community in Sweden that, following Sweden's NATO application, the Government and relevant agencies are more susceptible to Turkish demands.

Turkey says the man, whose name is Mahmut Tat, is guilty of collaboration with the PKK terror organisation, or the Kurdistan Workers' Party, and he was arrested immediately upon arrival. He denies the charges.

As far as is known, this was the first time a person convicted of having connections to the PKK has been extradited to Turkey.
