Demand for Swedish timber grows as sanctions on Russia cut down supplies
Swedish companies are benefiting from rising lumber prices as sanctions against Russia, the largest exporter of milled wood products in the world, have European buyers looking for new suppliers.
A report published on Friday from Swedish Forest Industries Federation predicts more pressure on Sweden's timber industry in the coming months.
Sawmill owner Claes Andersson said most of the increased demand comes from those wanting to export Swedish lumber.
