Efforts to reduce levels of problem minerals in batteries
The battery industry is trying to reduce the amount of problematic minerals used in the production of batteries.
Cobalt is one mineral that is often associated with poor working conditions and environmental damage when mined.
Peter Norin from Novo Energy says batteries already contain less cobalt than they used to, and future batteries will likely have even less.
