  • Many in Sweden who have been able to work remotely during the pandemic welcome the idea of continuing to do so to some extent, once it's safe to return to the workplace.

  • Employers are ultimately the ones who decide whether people can work remotely, according to several unions that Radio Sweden corresponded with, although it is possible for employees to speak to their employers about their wishes to see if they can reach a mutually beneficial solution.

  • Some unions warn that if employers aren't flexible about permitting remote work, those employers may find it hard to attract new hires.
