EU grants Swedish sweet protected geographic status
A candy from south-central Sweden was given protected status by the European Union on Tuesday.
Äkta Gränna Polkagrisar, a stick-shaped rock candy, earned the EU's Protected Geographical Indication for food and wines.
The candy comes from the small city of Gränna in Jönköping municipality and often looks and tastes much like a candy cane.
