  • The European Commission wants to extend the export restrictions on vaccines, despite the fact that today there is a large surplus of Covid vaccines in Europe.
  • Sweden will, however, vote no. "The EU will have a surplus of 900 million doses,so it is incomprehensible why we should have restrictions," says Sweden's Minister for Foreign Trade Anna Hallberg.
  • The last time the restrictions were extended in June, only seven EU countries voted against.
