Gothenburg - Oslo high-speed rail project hopes for support
Six municipalities in Bohus County have formed a consortium looking at raising funds for a high-speed rail link to improve travel connections with Norway in order to boost the region's economy.
Today it takes 3 hours and 40 minutes from Gothenburg to Oslo. Those involved with The Skagerrakbanan high-speed train project, say a 256 km electrified double-track railway connecting the cities of Oslo and Gothenburg, would take just one hour.
Critics are sceptical about the cost, timeline and feasibility.
