Green Party elects new co-leader, by one vote
At a party conference in Örebro over the weekend, the Green Party elected Daniel Helldén as their new co-leader. He beat rival Magnus P Wåhlin by just one vote, 131 to 130.
Daniel Helldén says he wants the party to focus more explicitly on climate and environmental policies.
But the heated leadership campaign, and the closeness of the vote, means his mandate from the party is 'about as weak as any newly elected leader's could be' according to Nicholas Aylott, Associate Professor of Political Science at Södertörn University.
