
Grid operator earning billions from differences in electricity prices
National power grid operator, Svenska kraftnät, has made more than 11 billion kronor this year by transferring electricity between the north and the south of the country. A normal year, the state-owned enterprise earns between one and two billion, Swedish Radio reports.
Profits have grown along with the widening gap in electricity prices betwen different parts of Sweden.
Industry organisation Swedenergy tells Swedish Radio News some of the profit should be used to even out price differences.
