How will the new work permit salary rule affect non-EU citizens?

  • A new salary threshold for non-EU citizens wanting to get a work permit, or prolong an existing work permit, is set to come into effect this autumn.

  • The new minimum salary requirement will be SEK 26,560 a month.

  • "It will be really depressing and stressful for me, because I have invested a lot of time and money here in Sweden," says one woman who worries she won't meet the new requirement.
