In regional elections, healthcare staffing is candidates' top issue
The political parties' top candidates running for regional council elections this September say boosting staff numbers in healthcare is their top priority, according to a survey by Swedish Radio News.
All 176 candidates responded to the survey asking for their election pledges and 75 percent of them said addressing staff shortages in the sector is the most important issue.
Proposals for how the situation can improve range from better salaries to greater career opportunities.
