Inflation climbing again
New inflation figures published by Statistics Sweden today show that the rate of inflation according to its Consumer Price Index with fixed interest rates, including energy costs, reached 9.4 percent in February. That's an increase compared to January when it was 9.3 percent.
The Consumer Price Index with fixed interest rates is the rate that the Central Bank uses for its inflation target, which influences its decisions on setting key interest rates.
Statistics Sweden also said that in the past 12 months, prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks have risen by over 20 percent, a rise not seen since the 1950s.
