Liberals now want a stop for all privately-run religious schools
The center-right Liberal Party wants to tighten its policy on privately-run schools with a religious profile, by dismantling them during the next four years.
In Sweden, the school system is publicly funded but private actors can open and operate their own schools that receive taxpayer money.
The Liberal party leadership also proposes carving out an exception for schools that are linked with one of Sweden's five recognized national minorities.
