Migration Agency expects fewer work permit applications after rule change
Sweden's Migration Agency is predicting a drop in work permit applications once the Government's increased minimum salary threshold comes into effect.
Annika Gottberg, planning director at the Migration Agency, says around 7,000 fewer applications are expected this year, according to its latest quarterly forecast.
The agency also estimates that one in four current work permit holders will not earn enough to meet the new SEK 26,500 salary threshold, which comes into force in October.
