  • Sweden's Migration Agency is predicting a drop in work permit applications once the Government's increased minimum salary threshold comes into effect.

  • Annika Gottberg, planning director at the Migration Agency, says around 7,000 fewer applications are expected this year, according to its latest quarterly forecast.

  • The agency also estimates that one in four current work permit holders will not earn enough to meet the new SEK 26,500 salary threshold, which comes into force in October.
