New demand: 9 out of 10 pupils must take part in PISA school tests

  • The National Agency for Education is tightening the requirements for schools that are to participate in the Pisa school tests.
  • Skolverket said today that nine out of ten pupils at a participating school must sit the Pisa tests. Those schools who do not meet the target must arrange more tests.
  • Earlier this year, the Swedish National Audit Office found that Sweden had excluded, by removing in advance, a too high proportion of 9th grade pupils, with the subsequent risk of misleading, overly positive results.
