  • Health officials in Sweden are asking the public, particularly parents, to be vigilant after nine suspected cases of liver inflammation or acute hepatitis have been detected in young children.

  • The Public Health Agency says it's unclear what's causing the cases in kids under the age of 17, which were registered between November and April in different parts of the country.

  • Swedish Radio News reports that in one case the child became so ill they needed a liver transplant.
