  • 33 municipalities in Sweden currently have bans on outdoor water usage, but despite the warm weather there is no general water shortage across the country so far this year.
  • Water-use restrictions during the summer months are a recurring issue in southern and eastern parts of the country, due to low groundwater levels and distribution problems.
  • "Most places in Sweden have water, but locally there can be a lack of water," says Fredrik Vinthagen, spokesperson at Swedish Water.
