Reports: Turkey ready to approve Finland NATO bid before elections

Turkey is planning to approve Finland's NATO bid, independently from Sweden's, ahead of parliamentary and presidential elections that will take place on May 14, two Turkish officials told news agency Reuters on Wednesday.

The Turkish parliament is highly likely to ratify Finland's NATO membership before it closes mid-April for the elections, the officials said.

Finland's President will travel to Turkey tomorrow for a two-day working visit and is reported to be meeting with his counterpart President Erdogan in Istanbul on Friday.
