Snowstorm moving in over southern Sweden

An orange weather warning for heavy snow and strong wind has been issued for southern Sweden today where a couple of decimetres of snow is expected due to an area of low pressure moving in from Denmark.

Sweden's weather service SHMI forecasts that prolonged snowfall in combination with the wind could lead to major disruptions in traffic and power outages in northern Skåne, Halland, large parts of Blekinge, Kronoberg and Kalmar.

Emergency services are said to have scaled up their operations in readiness for the storm.
