Social Democrats could alter party's NATO stance by end of next week

  • Tobias Baudin, chair of the ruling Social Democrats, said the party's board could hammer out a new policy on NATO membership during a meeting on May 15.

  • The party has long been opposed to NATO membership but Russia's invasion of Ukraine has forced it to rethink that position.

  • Next week, the government will also present a national security review from representatives from all eight parties in Sweden's parliament.
