Swedbank hit by IT error - money disappears from customer accounts
A technical issue left thousands of Swedbank customers believing that their bank accounts had been emptied, media in Sweden reported, Friday.
The bank said that a malfunction Thursday evening resulted in customers' accounts incorrectly showing they were overdrawn even though their money was still there.
Swedbank says its working to rectify the malfunction, which it has identified.
