Sweden celebrates the King's golden jubilee

Sweden's King celebrates 50 years on the throne today with a range of festivities planned in the nation's capital.

King Carl XVI Gustaf,77, is Sweden's longest reigning sovereign and was the world's youngest monarch when he ascended the throne aged 27, following the death of his grandfather Gustaf VI Adolf.

Titti Schultz, co-host of Swedish Radio's 'The Monarchs' podcast tells Radio Sweden about the man behind the Crown and how the death of his father in a plane crash when he was just nine months old shaped him as a person.
