Swedish oil representatives indicted on complicity in grave war crimes in Sudan

  • Two representatives of the Swedish energy company formerly called Lundin Oil have been indicted with aiding and abetting grave war crimes in Sudan from 1999 to 2003, the Swedish Prosecution Authority said.

  • The pair are suspected of having been complicit in war crimes committed by the then Sudanese regime with the purpose of securing the company's oil operations in southern Sudan.

  • The two suspects deny the charges.
