Tips to police gone up since terror threat level change
Tip-offs to the police about unattended bags and other areas of concern have gone up since Sweden's security service, Säpo, raised its terror alert to its second highest level and the public was asked to be vigilant.
”The number of calls has increased a lot since the alert was raised, both from the general public and other parts of society,” says Jens Ahlstrand, head of the intelligence unit in police region Väst in western Sweden.
In mid-August, Säpo raised the terrorist alert level from 3 to 4 on a five point scale, reflecting a high threat of attacks in Sweden.
