Ukraine war reaches six-month mark

Roughly 44 000 Ukrainian citizens have either applied for asylum or been allowed to stay in Sweden thanks to the EU's temporary protection directive following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in late February.

Alyona and her daughter came to Stockholm in March. She is finding it difficult to find work; however, her daughter has recently started school.

"I used to work as a nurse in Ukraine it is quite complicated because first requirements are that I have to know Swedish language so that, I cannot start right now to work as a nurse", Alyona told Radio Sweden.
