While Sweden raises the work permit salary threshold - Denmark lowers theirs
The Swedish government and the Sweden Democrats have often looked to Denmark for inspiration on issues relating to migration and integration.
But when it comes to labour migration the two countries are heading in opposite directions.
While Sweden has raised the minimum salary for work permits to 80 per cent of the median salary - and the government aims to bring it up to 100 per cent - Denmark earlier this year lowered their threshold: from a salary on about 82 per cent of the Danish median, to 69 per cent.
