Doris Lessing Wins Nobel Prize in Literature

The Swedish Academy has awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature to Englist writer Doris Lessing.

Beginning with “The Grass is Singing” in 1950, her best-known books include “The Golden Notebook”, “Briefing for a Descent into Hell”, and a series of science fiction novels exploring such topics as colonialism, nuclear war, and ecological disaster.
